本周我们来学习与颜色相关的词汇
1. clash/klæʃ/
v. (色彩或风格)不协调；搭配不当
搭配：clash with 与…不搭
e.g. The designer said the outfit looked too busy because the colors clashed.
e.g. The bright pink shirt clashed with his orange pants.
n. 不协调;不一致
e.g. Her neon green top and bright red pants created a serious color clash.
补充：neon green 亮绿色
2. pastel /'pæst(ə)l/
adj. 色彩淡的，柔和的；
e.g. I love wearing pastel colors in the spring — they feel so fresh and light.
e.g. The pastel green dress clashed with her bright red lipstick.
e.g. Pastel colors feel soft, calming, relaxing and refreshing.
synonym: neutral
They decorated the room in neutral tones.
antonym: bold; bright; intense
e.g. Neon yellow feels overwhelming, bright and intense.
3. slimming /ˈslɪmɪŋ/
adj.瘦身的;显瘦的
e.g. Black is very slimming.
e.g. Vertical stripes can have a slimming effect.
e.g. That dress has a slimming cut — it really flatters your figure.
补充：flatter your figure 显身材
4. complement /'kɒmplɪm(ə)nt/
v.衬托; 与…相辅相成
e.g. White shoes complement almost any outfit.
e.g. This dress complements your skin tone perfectly.
synonym: flatter使显得更漂亮；
e.g. This pastel pink really flatters your skin tone.
n. 补足物；衬托物
e.g. The scarf is a perfect complement to her outfit.
